Pro Series sand filters feature unitized construction of corrosion-proof, polymeric material and self-cleaning 360° slotted laterals. A versatile seven-position control valve offers both easy operation and maximum efficiency.   • The Hayward 18" Pro Series sand filter is ideal for small to medium in-ground pools up to about 20,000 gallons (approximately 76,000 liters), depending on your pump’s flow rate and daily run times.

  • It requires approximately 175 lbs (about 79 kg) of sand when filled to the correct level. Proper media fill helps filter particles down to the 20-40 micron range for dependable water clarity.

  • The 18" Pro Series model is designed specifically for smaller systems and lower flow rates than larger Hayward sand filters like the 22" or 24" Pro Series units. This makes it a compact, cost-efficient choice for smaller pools or plunge pools, while still offering the durability and proven performance Hayward is known for.

  • The Hayward S180TC is compatible with most standard in-ground pool pumps that use 1½" plumbing connections. It works well with vinyl, fiberglass, and concrete pools, provided that the pump’s flow rate stays within the filter’s recommended range.
